Spring is teasing us here in Paris and the days are still very much grey. But I do feel it is time to put away our winter coats and bring out some lighter layers. I wore a floor sweeping white denim trench coat recently to Musée Rodin and it felt more appropriate for spring than my recent rotation of heavy wool or shearling pieces. I have seen so many great modern trench coats recently, so I thought I would put together a little edit of my favourites.
I really love a relaxed, oversized cotton trench and always prefer a longer length. Although, I have found a few great cropped versions as well, including a camel coloured nappa leather one — cropped jackets are definitely having a moment.
The dark denim trench at the end is a little more of a tailored, structured style and high on my Wishlist. Get ready to wear a lot of blue this year as well — baby blue, dark blue and everything in between.

Such a great classic trench coat, but it still feels effortless and relaxed. I love that it is double breasted and has silver detailing. A great length too.

Great over a little black dress or paired with trousers with sandals. Such a great layering piece.

One of my favourite coats from Elleme as part of their core collection that I wore on repeat last winter. I love the deep pockets and contrast chocolate stitching. It’s such a great washed grey, and again, perfect length.

Feels very chic, and perfect for the office. Such a great silhouette, especially from behind. I feel you could definitely dress this one up or down — it works so well styled with jeans.

A very classic, timeless style that looks great with or without the belt tied at the waist. An easy light stone colour that would work well in any wardrobe. It suits a button up shirt underneath.

Country Road Organically Grown Cotton Trench Coat Sicilian Olive
My favourite colour for a trench coat, this one is beautiful. A really great length, thoughtfully designed, and timeless. I always look at the materials of a garment before purchasing and love that this one is made from 100% organically grown cotton. I would go up a size or two, so it’s not too fitted. Double knot the belt or wear open on a warm day.
Jacquemus Bari Belted Trench Coat
Love the sleeves and the overall simplicity of the coat. I’m not sure why they styled it with a hoodie and baggy denim but it would look great with strappy heels and a small top handle bag. Jacquemus is always a good idea.

Very cool. Chic-dropping-off-the-kids-at-school-mum-vibes. Love the colour too.

La Collection coats are always so thoughtful and well designed. I’m sure this trench is no exception. One to wear season after season.

Oversized, casual and cool. Wear with heeled boots to balance out the weight of the denim. I keep coming back to this one, and love it more and more every time I see it.

A really great denim trench that I’m sure you will get many compliments on when you wear it. I love how it is styled here with a perspex open toe heel. Perfect for those days when you want to wear some colour to brighten your mood.

Love love love. Add to cart. I’ll definitely be styling with my own belt for a more elevated look. A coat that is an outfit in itself.
